Food Bank
What is ASU Food Bank about?

The ASU Food Bank, accessible to all Arizona State University students with a valid student ID, stands as a vital resource combating food insecurity among the student body. Offering a diverse array of essentials, including fresh fruits, vegetables, various breads, proteins, canned goods, and nonperishable items, the initiative is dedicated to providing free access to nutritious food while fostering a supportive environment for those facing challenges related to food security. This comprehensive approach ensures that students with different dietary needs can access sustenance, enabling them to focus on their academic and personal growth without the burden of hunger.

Beyond tangible provisions, the ASU Food Bank embodies a commitment to unity and care within the campus community. It serves as a symbol of shared responsibility, where volunteers and staff work tirelessly to create an atmosphere of respect and understanding. By reinforcing the idea that seeking assistance is not a sign of weakness but a mutual investment in each other's success, the initiative aims to build a brighter, healthier future for every Sun Devil, fostering a campus culture where no student goes hungry.

How the Food Bank Works:
  • Students are invited to utilize the food bank once a week during designated operational hours, as outlined on the provided page. Please note that these hours may be subject to change.
  • To optimize efficiency and minimize wait times, appointments can be scheduled through the designated page. However, walk-ins remain accommodated.
  • Each visitor is allocated a 10-minute shopping window. It is essential to adhere to the scheduled time, as tardiness will result in a proportional reduction in shopping duration. The number of students allowed within the facility simultaneously is limited.
  • Students are permitted to acquire items that comfortably fit into a single bag.
  • Access to the food bank is restricted to the individual who has made the appointment, and this service is exclusively available to current and continuing ASU students.
  • It is recommended that visitors bring their reusable grocery bags for a sustainable shopping experience.
  • Please exercise prudence in taking only what is necessary for the week, as the food bank is a communal resource intended for the benefit of the entire student community.
